Flat Cat Concrete (FCC) owns and operates a ground heating
unit capable of thawing frozen soil or curing concrete during cold
temperatures. This equipment can cover
approx. 10,000 sf or up to 600 lf of 2’ wide continuous surface area.
During the months of December/January, 2006, we were able to thaw frozen soil approx. 12” deep in a 2' by 600' strip in just 24hrs! This capability allowed us to excavate and
install footings for 3 buildings during the period of rough weather. These projects were kept on schedule and
weather conditions did not hamper progress.
FCC also has enough insulating blankets to cover approx.
20,000 sf. We can thaw 10,000 sf in one
evening, pour it the next day. We then
cover it to protect the new concrete while thawing another 10,000 for the
following day.
